How Can I get a New SIC Code Created for my Type of Business?

The Standard Industrial Classification System (SIC) was discontinued in 1997. While the four digit SIC codes will no longer be updated, some data companies have created a proprietary 6 or 8 digit SIC coding system that they continue to maintain and update for market segmentation purposes.  When you look at a 4 Digit SIC code page on our website, you will see the 8 Digit SIC codes as produced and maintained by Dun & Bradstreet.  You are not able to have new codes created, but D&B does update and maintain these codes and will produce new codes when they determine there is enough evidence that the new code is warranted.
